Yumiko Takeshima in Osaka to judge Youth America Grand Prix 2017

The Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) 2017 international Semi Finals were held last week in Osaka, Japan. As the world's largest and one of the most prestigious international ballet competitions, the YAGP provides educational and professional opportunities to young dancers ages 9 through 19. Participating dancers get the chance to take class and work together with leading dance teachers and figures from around the world.

As part of this year’s professional panel, Yumiko Takeshima has been in Osaka for the past week. While judging competition events each day she has also been teaching and mentoring hundreds of young dancers through classes and workshops.

Approximately 12 semi-finalists from the Osaka competition will be announced today. These young dancers will go on to participate in the YAGP finals to be held in New York City in April 2017.
